SMT Verse #8

Wow!  This day has gotten away from me.  So sorry I didn't get this posted earlier.

It's the 15th of July...time for verse #8.  You have been so faithful in posting your verses.  I am so excited for what God is doing in your lives as a result of meditating and memorizing His Word.  Keep it up!!  For those of you who have done a couple of verses, I encourage you to hop back on board.  Don't let the busy-ness of life keep you from getting to know Him better.  And for those of you who have not joined our Scripture Memory Team yet, COME ON!  You will be amazed at what you can do and what situations you can get through because you know His promises to you.  If you have any questions about memorizing Scripture...or how to even pick which ones to memorize, ask me.  I'd love to help you on this journey of knowing Him more and more so that we can reflect His glory more and more.

I'm going to my family reunion this weekend and am so excited to get to spend time with them.  This weekend there will be 45 people there ranging in age from 5 months to 85 years!  And that's not even all of us--we number over 75...with 2 more on the way.  I bring this up because I have been blessed to be part of a family that has had God at its center for generations.  What a treasure that is!!  I have chosen to memorize the following verses so that I will remember my part in showing the generations to come...and those already here...who God is and that He loves us so!

"For He established a testimony in Jacob
         And appointed a law in Israel,
         Which He commanded our fathers
         That they should teach them to their children,
    That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born,
         That they may arise and tell them to their children,
    That they should put their confidence in God
         And not forget the works of God,
         But keep His commandments."
Psalm 78:5-7 (NASB)

Several of you have posted this earlier in our memorization. I've memorized it before but without reviewing it, has escaped my memory so I decided it was time to put it to memory again.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Phillipians 4:8 (NIV)

OK, I'm following Nita's lead. I want to memorize this one for certain. Only, I'm using my old standby version (NASB).
